Esdec has been supplying universal mounting systems for roof-mounted PV installations on flat and pitched roofs since 2004. With more than 15 years of experience and more than 7 gigawatts of installed solar panels, the company is now an international market leader.
The challenge
Esdec was not satisfied with their existing installation manuals. They wanted to improve both the content and the process of creating a manual. Because sufficient time and attention had already been devoted internally to create the installation manuals, having this job carried out externally was not self-evident. When Esdec received a warm recommendation, they decided to take the step and contacted Manualise. After a pleasant introduction, we were given the opportunity to sink our teeth into this exciting challenge.
The solution
First and foremost, Manualise analysed the existing manuals and visited Esdec to align the content with the subject matter expert. This quickly led to a list of improvement points.
After consultation and optimisation of this list, the implementation of improvements began. Illustrations were created based on 3D CAD models and incorporated into a content management system. The setup of this system enables various exports from one source, both for print and online purposes. Additionally, it makes content reusability across different manuals easy.
